This Brewer Chimney Capper is a straightforward, value-for-money resolution that prevents debris, squirrel and bird entry while still permitting nominal ventilation - vital in dead chimneys. The integral rain cap also ensures protection from rainfall. Using the stainless steel strap system, it can instantaneously and simply fit chimneys with an internal diameter from 150mm up to 250mm (6" to 10"). It is also a terracotta colour to blend well with the chimney design.
"This birdguard can be used with redundant chimneys, which is very important. When dead chimneys have rain entry, it is one of the primary causes of structural decay in chimney stacks. Since there isn't a fire, saturation from rain entry will never dry out in the winter, so the freeze/thaw cycle prompts a continuous degradation of the masonry and mortar at a great ultimate expense. "
