This 200mm x 200mm Nutrim Aluminium AF2 Internal Angle with a 64mm Face and 60mm Leg is a suitable trimming for built-up felt and mastic asphalt roofing. It requires fixing with galvanised or cadmium screws or nails at no greater than 300mm (12") centres with the ends secured firmly in place.
With a recommended minimum of eight fixings per length and a 3mm gap left between each section, allowing for expansion, priming of the fixing leg is advised. For built-up felt roofing, the first felt layer should cover the kerb while the Nutrim is fixed into position. The upper layer of felt roofing should be placed in a similar position over the trim, with the top edge turned into the hood, eradicating the outer edge of the top layer of felt lifting.
When fitting with mastic asphalt, this Nutrim can be fixed in place before installing the asphalt. On concrete roofs, the sheathing felt is stopped at the base of the kerb, while on timber kerbs, the expanded metal lathing and sheathing felt must be fixed to the inner edge of the fixing arm. The mastic asphalt skirtings are then fitted with the top edge turned into the protective hood of this aluminium trim.
