Manufactured in Wales with more than 60% reclaimed slate, this Redland Cambrian Slate Interlocking Roof Slate excels in functionality and aesthetics. With the distinctiveness of authentic slate and easy installation, Cambrian's clever three-point fixing system enables it to withstand the most exposed locations and sites.
This lightweight slate can be purchased in different colours to match your current roof design, showcasing a well-established reputation on pitches as shallow as 15° at 75mm headlap and 25° at 50mm headlap. Installed with the recommended nail size of 30mm x 2.65mm, this slate has coverage of 15.9 slates per m² at a 210mm gauge, 14.8 slates per m² at a 225mm gauge and 13.3 slates per m² at a 250mm gauge.
For rafter centres up to 400mm, battens sized 38mm x 25mm are required while for larger rafter centres up to 600mm, 50mm x 25mm battens are required. For optimal coverage, you will need the following batten quantities per m²: 4.76m with a 210mm gauge, 4.44m with a 225mm gauge and 4.00m with a 250mm gauge.
Question:
I need to replace a couple of broken roof tiles which I believe are Marley Melbourn - is the Redlands the equivalent replacement?
Answer:
I don't know of a Marley tile called Melbourn - do you mean Marley Modern? also they are not compatible.
Question:
I have lost 3 adjacent tiles (horizontally), not verge or eaves tiles, from my roof and hope you can help me to identify which tiles I have lost. I have found broken bits that indicate they are Redland Cambrian, and dimensions suggest they are product code 10001760. Because of the growth on the tiles it is difficult to tell what the finish is other than slate colour. Are there any other tell-tail details I need to note to make sure I order the correct replacements? All the surrounding tiles feel secure. Do you have a way of fixing replacement tiles without going back to the verge or the ridge? There don't seem to be any nails or clips left behind that might have been used to hold the lost tiles. Thanks Will Birkinshaw
