Knauf Earthwool Flexible Slab

Earthwool flexible slab is one of the latest insulation products from Knauf Insulation. Knauf have been manufacturing insulation products for over 40 years, refining and improving their research, manufacturing processes and products to create the most highly insulating products possible.

What is Earthwool flexible slab?

Earthwool flexible slabs are slabs of insulation that have been manufactured from mineral wool. Mineral wool generally consists of molten glass, stone or slag, that is spun at high temperatures to create numerous thin fibres. These fibres are then compressed into a slab shape that is then used as insulation.

What are the benefits of Earthwool flexible slabs?

Earthwool flexible slabs can be used in a wide range of applications, including timber and metal stud partitions, timber frame walls and suspended timber floors, to provide both thermal and acoustic insulation.

Knauf have created a flexible edge on each of the four sides of the insulation slab, which allows for optimal friction fitting in between studs, joists and rafters. This means that minimal heat loss will occur, maximising the efficiency of the Earthwool slabs.

A major benefit of Earthwool flexible slabs is that they are incredible lightweight, and already come in manageable sizes. Additionally, if required, the flexible slabs from Knauf are easy to cut to size.

Earthwool flexible slabs have been manufactured to be environmentally friendly, as not only do they reduce energy usage by retaining heat within the building, they are also manufactured with zero ozone depletion potential and zero global warming potential. Additionally, Earthwool flexible slabs have a non-combustible A1 reaction to fire rating.
