Description

This Ruberoid 2mm Glass Universal Torch-On Roofing Underlay by IKO features insane durability and fantastic flexibility. Equipped with a 60g/m² glass fibre base, this roofing underlay is coated with APP (Atactic Polypropylene) modified bitumen that adds resilience. The top surface is finished with sand, while the underneath has a polyethylene layer that can be flame dispersed.

Application is easy when following BS 8217: 2005, 'Code of Practice for Reinforced bitumen membranes for roofing', and IKO instructions. Just melt the heat-dispersible backing with a torch at the low point where the roll and the underlay intercept. Roll the roofing as it melts and ensure a bead of bitumen exudes every lap joint for a confident and secure seal.

Tuberoid 2mm glass universal torch-on roofing underlay works best when installed after a venting layer and before a 4mm mineral or 4mm sanded cap sheet.

Please note:

  • Take care when using torches close to flammable materials and coatings.
  • Replace the mineral cap sheet with a 4mm sanded cap sheet if laying promenade tiles.
