Firestone RubberCover roof membrane is a fire retardant, 100% cured single-ply roofing membrane that’s perfect for small flat roofs, dormers, porches, extensions, and other residential projects. The durable and watertight fire-retardant roofing membrane is made from synthetic rubber and features a top ply of a fire-retardant compound.

A favourite amongst builders, contractors and DIY customers, this 1.14mm thick Firestone RubberCover fire retardant roofing membrane is resistant to UV and stable over a huge temperature range, -40°C to 130°C. This EPDM roof membrane even retains its elasticity at low temperatures, keeping high flexibility and elongation.
To install this EPDM fire retardant roofing membrane the roof itself must be capable to taking the temporary loading and the surface must be prepared. This involves removing any debris, oil, grease, petrol-based products and sharp edges to get the best, most reliable covering. Once the roof is clean, smooth and dry, voids of any more than 5mm wide must be filled in.
To achieve the fire-retardant properties of Firestone RubberCover you must ensure that the side of the sheet with ‘This Side Down’ printed on it is flush with the substrate. After RubberCover is laid you must let the membrane relax for around half an hour before spicing or final securement. Please note: Dimensions of this EPDM roof membrane are calculated to cover the substrate, taking into consideration overlaps and upstands, factoring 100mm for standard seams and 200mm for seams with batten in. It’s recommended that you add 150mm at upstands for ease of installation.
