Ideal for use with partially bonded bituminous-based torch-applied roofing systems, including Icopal Profiles and Total Torch waterproofing applications, these Thermazone Torch-On boards comprise a polypropylene fleece with a bitumen/glass fibre working layer and a mineral glass surface on the lower side.
These Thermazone Torch-On insulation boards are suitable for use over all sorts of structural decks and must always be located over a vapour control layer. They are resistant to most adhesives, greases and oils, except those with esters and ketones, as well as impervious to microbial and mould growth.
When using these boards with the Icopal Profiles and Total Torch waterproofing installations, they are fixed by torch application which involves heating the stripes on the top surface of the vapour control layer to diffuse the thermofusible film and trigger the bitumen stripes. They ensure a uniform and secure bond when placed onto the vapour control layer and pushed into the surface. These boards must be closed-butted and positioned staggered (broken joints).
