Trevillett Cornish Slate (16 inch x 8 inch) NEW

Roofing slate is available ex our Trevillett Quarry at Tintagel in North Cornwall. Blue-Grey slate block is quarried, diamond sawn and then hand split into natural riven roofing slates.

Roofing Slate Sizes
These blue grey slates are available in traditional diminishing coursed random from 24" down to 12", 12" to 8" Peggies which can be dry or wet scantle laid or more contemporary sized slates from 24" x 12" 'Duchesses' down to 12" x 6" 'Doubles'.

A timeless roofing medium, enhancing buildings both traditional and modern it will maintain and add to its very long life. It has been specified and approved on many prestigious contracts from private housing to large listed buildings and churches.

All 3 quarries are in Upper Devonian Slate with Trevillet quarrying the Upper Delabole Slate Beds (as defined in 'Memoirs of the Geological Survey of Great Britian 1973'). The slate is a metamorphic rock derived from fine gained sediments which have been subjected to heat and pressure during regional metamorphism.
