Wallbarn’s TD Megapads are heavy duty pedestals designed to hold suspended timber decking where the deck will require greater weight tolerances and higher clearances. They support timber joists which are loose fitted onto the headpiece, with the deck boards for the top surface being mechanically fixed to those joists.

Even flat roofs are built to falls to allow adequate drainage. TD Megapads help to achieve a completely flat upper decking surface. The rainwater runs between and under the slabs, so there is no standing water left on the surface. They create a cavity between the sub-deck and the decking which helps ventilate the structure and allows services such as pipes and cables to be hidden from view.
This is a suspended system – the joist framework when constructed and cross fixed will hold everything in place. Changes to height can be made whilst the joist is in place. This saves a great deal of time and labour. TD Megapad pedestals are manufactured from polypropylene and can tolerate 2 tonnes in weight per unit. They will not become brittle in low temperatures. Megapads have been tested using the CATAS procedure for Compressive Strength at +20°C and - 40°C. See technical data below for details.
