Cromapol Universal Primer is a one component, UV stable, solvent based Acrylic Primer for use before applying Cromapol.
Areas of application
Flat and Pitched Roofs, Corrugated Asbestos, Roof lights, Flashings, Roofing Felt, Gutters, Slate, Lead, Glasshouses, Metal and Fibreglass.
Colour : grey.
Coverage rates : 0.5 - 1kg per m² on average.
Drying time : Up to 72 hours dependent on the ambient temperature. .
Container sizes : 20 kg.
Shelf life : 12 months
Flash point : 40°C
Storage : store away from children, preferably under cover and between 5°C - 20°C.
Surface preparation
Whilst minimal preparations are required, the surface must be sound and free of loose or friable materials.
To obtain the best result remove all surface debris and surface water using a stiff broom and power wash.
Repairs to cracks/holes up to 10mm and will also repair 10mm width cracks without any Scrim. This must be carried out prior to coating.
Fungus, mould and lichens must be removed, additional protection against fungal spores can be achieved by applying Moss and Mould Remover.
Oil or grease must be removed prior to application.
Any existing coating must be inspected and adhesion tests carried out.
Application
Cromapol Universal Primer is easily applied using a brush or roller. Cromapol Universal Primer can be applied in one coat, but experience has shown that a two coat application ensure a greater uniformity of coating thickness.
Cromapol Universal Primer will tolerate damp surfaces although with any application for best results apply to a dry surface if possible.
Application temperature should be between 5°C - 25°C.
