Polycarbonate Roofing Sheets
Polycarbonate roofing sheets are known for their lightweight but durable properties. Despite being a type of plastic roof sheet, polycarbonate roofing is known for its incredible strength, protecting outbuildings and greenhouses against harsh weather conditions including heavy rain, wind, and snowfall. They are incredibly easy to install thanks to their light weight.
Polycarbonate roof sheets are also extremely beneficial during the summer months. Many of them are coated with a UV protectant, making them less susceptible to yellowing or discolouration from the sun and less prone to damage from the heat.
As well as greenhouses and outbuildings, polycarbonate roof panels can be used in some cases to replace glass, and even as small skylights. They are available in a range of colours and thicknesses depending on the architectural design you want to achieve, or the structure of your property. Popular thicknesses include 10mm and 16mm polycarbonate sheeting, which can be used on greenhouses, canopies, and pergola roofs.
Our polycarbonate sheet roofing is available in a range of different profiles, each with its own unique benefits.
Corrugated
Corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheets are amongst the most used. Thanks to their undulating or ‘wavy’ structure, they are even more reinforced, offering up to 200 times more strength than glass. Combined with the benefits of light transmission, UV protection, and a resistance to rust and warping, they make the ultimate polycarbonate roofing sheet.
Flat
Flat polycarbonate sheets are designed to replicate a more durable replacement for applications where glass would normally be used, for instance, when installing skylights. It can also be used for aesthetic purposes, for when a sleek, modern, or flat roof may be more desirable.
Twinwall
Twinwall polycarbonate sheets offer stronger structural integrity thanks to their double layer of polycarbonate, with a small air gap in between. Slightly less durable than multiwall sheets, they are a great option if you still want optimum light transmission with more strength than single layer polycarbonate. Twinwall sheets are most ideal for smaller canopies including pergolas.
Multiwall
Multiwall polycarbonate roofing sheets offer three or more layers of polycarbonate, with ribs in between. Because of these layers, they are stronger than twinwall sheets and provide higher thermal insulation, but offer limited light transmission in comparison. Multiwall sheets are also priced slightly higher, and are best suited to larger roofing applications including conservatories and lean-tos.
