This Dreadnought Premium Clay Roofing Tile and Half is from Dreadnought Tiles. With more depth and darkness than Blue Brindle and Dark Heather tiles, Staffordshire Blue tiles possess the depth and subtlety of true blue clay, making ideal contrasts to light-coloured stone and brickwork.
A British manufacturer located in Staffordshire, Dreadnought Tiles has been producing clay roof tiles for more than 215 years using locally sourced Etruria Marl Clay. These roofing products offer impressive strength and durability, as well as a wide range of colours and finishes. Colours are achieved without artificial stains or coloured sands. Instead, the kiln atmosphere is meticulously controlled for natural quality colours with subtle variations within every tile for a distinctive, unique touch when enhancing the overall appearance of any roof.
While some companies use surface stains to create a dark tile, the Dreadnought range of genuine traditional blue clay colours makes use of a carefully controlled kiln atmosphere which converts the clay's iron content to blue, similar to Staffordshire Blue bricks. A unique process developed by generations of brick and tile makers, it sets the Dreadnought Factory apart from the rest. Staffordshire blue clay roof tiles provide a substitute for natural slate and allow for the inclusion of ornamental elements.
