Designed to suit the 457mm x 305mm Hardrow® Solos, these Forticrete Hardrow® Solo Eaves Tiles are part of a reliable concrete tile platform that uses clever manufacturing to replicate the subtle natural patina of slate and stone. Offering excellent architectural properties and the aesthetic appeal of natural stone or slate, Hardrow® Solos will naturally mellow with age. Their subtle, natural colours are all carefully balanced to meet regional preferences.
Using a double lap for flexible design options, these tiles are mechanically fixed without mortar. Hardrow® Solos are made slightly irregular in size, thickness and shape to enhance the laid character of the roof, imitating that natural variance that makes natural stone so popular. The colouring also varies between slates, recreating that much sought-after traditional appearance without stretching the budget.
For fixing above 40°, all slates should be nailed into the batten with 2 x 38mm x 3.35mm aluminium nails (40mm x 4mm for 24 x 18 slates). Nail holes are positioned approximately 50mm down from the heads of the slates and 50mm to 100mm in from the side edges with diameters of approximately 5mm. It is possible to hang slates at pitches below 40°, though this depends on conditions. Advice can be sought from the roofing superstore technical department.
