This GRC 105° Three Hole Crested Angle Ridge is a cement-based material reinforced with glass fibres, blended with Portland cement, sand and pigments. This combination results in a remarkable robust, durable and aesthetically pleasing product that will elevate the appeal of any structure.
Coated with a water-based paint finish, this crested ridge boasts outstanding uniformity, ensuring seamless integration with your roofing system. With its exceptional strength and resilience, it offers long-lasting protection against weather elements.
For a complete wet fix installation, start by placing the special short slates at the top course to achieve the perfect ridge cover. If you opt for a socketed ridge, position the overlapping sockets strategically, keeping them away from prevailing weather conditions for optimal performance. For a secure foundation, meticulously bed all ridges in a mortar and ensure the ridge tile joints are solidly set. Create the mortar using a mix of three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement.
Enhance the bond between the ridge and the mortar by applying a proprietary bonding agent to the ridge's underside. For additional reinforcement, use mechanical fixings as needed, following the guidelines of BS 5534 Part 1, 2003 and the current codes of practice. Provide unwavering stability by solid bedding the end ridge tile. When dealing with hips, secure a suitable hip iron in the base of the hip rafter. Align the bottom hip tile with the eaves to ensure a seamless fit, and finish with neat bedding and pointing.
