Meticulously crafted from a fusion of glass fibres, Portland cement, sand and pigments, this hip block end delivers a combination of durability and visual allure. To seamlessly incorporate it into your roofing framework, it boasts a water-based paint finish, ensuring an even and consistently sleek aesthetic. Its exceptional robustness and resilience ensure weather-resistant protection.
For a secure wet fix installation, start by situating specialised short slates at the top course for optimal coverage of the ridge. If you prefer socketed ridges, carefully position the overlapping sockets away from the prevailing weather elements. To establish a robust base, meticulously embed all ridges with a blend of mortar comprising three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement.
To enhance the adhesion between the ridge and the mortar, introduce a dedicated bonding agent to the underside of the ridge. For further reinforcement, adhere to the current codes of practice, along with the guidelines of BS 5534, Part 1, 2003, utilising mechanical fixings as deemed necessary. For stability, ensure sturdy bedding for the end ridge tile. When dealing with hip sections, securely affix an appropriate hip iron at the lower end of the hip rafter. Align the lower hip tile seamlessly with the eaves, cutting the bottom. Then, neatly finish the bedding and pointing for a refined appearance.
