Cost-effective and easy to install, this large-format and single-lap interlocking Redland Westminster Half Slate Clay Roof Tile comes in an assortment of colours. With variable gauge, a left or right-hand option, and various fittings and accessories available, this high-performance roof covering is perfect for a wide range of roofing options.
With a tapered leading edge for a thin appearance and a hidden interlock, this clay roof tile is high in elegance and cuts down materials and labour needed for installation. This clay roof tile has an overall size of 480mm x 326mm and a coverage capacity of 9.7 tiles per m² at maximum gauge and 10.5 tiles per m² at minimum gauge.
This tile has a minimum pitch of 17.5° (based on a maximum rafter length of 10 metres) and a maximum pitch (subject to fixing specification) of 90°. At a maximum gauge, the number of battens necessary is 2.7m per m² and 2.9 m per m² at a minimum gauge.
The colour City Black is obtained by applying black engobe over the top surface and ends of the tile before firing. Engobe is a ceramic material and with its high clay content, it fuses with the tile, meaning it will last as long as the tile will. These black tiles also include manganese, added to the clay for a darker body that will remain intact when the tiles are cut. When using City Black Slates, use Black Clay Universal Angle Ridge Tiles to coordinate with the slates or Red Clay Universal Angle Ridge Tiles to form a contrast.
