Description
Roofing superstore APP Fast-Torch roofing membranes are a range of prefabricated polymeric bitumen membranes manufactured from distilled bitumen, modified by high molecular weight plastomeric-polymers (APP).
These polymers give the waterproofing compound excellent thermal stability plus resistance to atmospheric conditions and ageing due to temperature variation, and are reinforced with a non-woven polyester or glass fibre.
Intended for use on
• Domestic, civil and industrial roofs in multi-layer systems.
• Concrete roofs (flat or curved), metal and timber decks.
• Warm or cold roofs.
• Underfloor, foundations, underground, tanking, terraces, canals.
• Under tiles or slates and re-roofing of existing coverings.
• The mineral version, with slate chippings is specifically used as a cap sheet.
Care
Keep the rolls in the upright position, protected from the sun (temperature ranging between 0°C and 40°C) and well away from heat sources and electrical plant.
No measures are needed to prevent the build-up of static electricity.
Keep proper fire-fighting equipment available at all times.
Application
1. The deck surface should be prepared correctly (all debris removed).
2. The surface should be coated with bitumen primer.
3. The rolls should be aligned, with lap joints of at least 8.5cm.
4. The membrane should be applied with an appropriate propane gas torch.
5. The end laps should be melted and refinished with a heated towel. The lap should be 10cm.
6. If the bituminous membrane is not protected with chippings it should be coated with solar reflective paint.
