Function
VELUX ACTIVE climate control fully automates the operation of sunscreening products for optimising indoor comfort and energy performance. The automatic operation is based on an algorithm that optimises the position of the sunscreening products throughout the year. The automatic operation is based on input from the wireless external sensors that measure the outdoor temperature and solar radiation on the sunscreening products/roof windows. During the cooling season, the system ensures that the sunscreening products are lowered to screen from the sun, thus avoiding overheating of the building. This reduces the need for cooling to a minimum and ensures a comfortable indoor temperature. During the heating season, the system ensures that the sunscreening products are raised during the day to use the passive solar gains for heating the building, thus reducing the heating demand. During the night, the suncreening products are lowered to add insulation to the windows, thereby further reducing the heating demand.
It is recommended to install additional solar sensors KLA 130 for each geographical orientation of the sunscreenings products to optimise the comfort of the building. With a touch of a button, it is possible to interrupt the system for a given period of time if you want to overrule the automatic function of the system. In addition to the automated operation, VELUX ACTIVE climate control provides all the features of remote control KLR 100.
Installation
The controller is fitted on a wall inside the building. The solar sensor is fitted on the sunscreening product and the temperature sensor is fitted in the shade on the outer wall where the temperature is representative. The controller is powered througha smalladaptor with a plug.
