This VP400 Plus LR felt underlay from Glidevale Protect is highly vapour permeable and resistant to heat and UV exposure. It provides the lowest vapour resistance and is the strongest of any Type LR roofing underlay in its class/weight range while remaining completely airtight.
Suitable for use in all pitched roofs, this durable underlay has unrestricted use for wind uplift in all exposure conditions in the UK and Ireland and can be used for zones 1 to 5 at 345mm batten gauge. It is ideal for helping to prevent the risk of condensation in your roof space in accordance with NHBC requirements and BS 5250 and can also be used as a temporary roof covering.
As the air tightness of dwellings and buildings continues to be improved due to new practices and better workmanship, it is recommended to regulate air movement within your structure, including through a roof underlay in roofs with an air barrier or vapour control layer.
One of the main functions of roof underlays is to help control the wind load pressures on your roof. To accomplish this, the underlay should have adequate mechanical properties to be capable of deflecting the wind load pressures safely over the structure. It is also essential for the underlay to be air and water tight.
