This Nutrim can be fixed by using cadmium or galvanised screws or nails at no more than 300mm (12") centres with ends secured firmly and at least eight fixings recommended per length. A 3mm gap should be left between each length to enable expansion while priming of the fixing leg is advised.
Suitable for mastic asphalt roofing and built-up felt roofing, this Aluminium Roof Trim can be applied to many applications. With built-up felt roofing, the first layer of felt should be dressed over the kerb with the aluminium trim fixed into place as described. The last layer of felt can be positioned similarly over the trimming, with the upper edge turned into the hood, removing the outside edge of the top layer of felt lifting.
When using this aluminium Nutrim with mastic asphalt, the roof trim can be fitted into position before laying the asphalt. When used on concrete roofs, the sheathing felt is stopped at the base of the kerb, while on timber kerbs, the sheathing felt and expanded metal lathing should be fixed to the inner edge of the fixing arm. The mastic asphalt skirtings are then laid with the upper edge turned into the protective hood of the aluminium trimming.
