All weather roof coating is a solvent-based, full-bodied black brushable bitumen compound with added fibres for reinforcement. It is an effective general-purpose roof coating that is resistant to wash off by rain almost immediately. The product is specifically designed for general waterproofing in all roofing applications, guttering (non-plastic) and structural steelwork.

Tools should be cleaned with paraffin or white spirit.

Please note this is an alternative to the Aquaseal fast-drying roof waterproofer.

Black Jack all weather roof coating is an effective, general-purpose roof coating.  It is resistant to wash off by rain almost immediately after its application and is therefore ideally suited for winter use. Black Jack all weather roof coating may be applied by brush to waterproof and re-seal many different types of roof coverings, including :

  • Asphalt roofs.
  • Built-up felt roofs.
  • Concrete roof decks.
  • Asbestos-Cement sheeting.
  • Metal sheeting, including iron, steel, zinc and lead.
  • Slates and tiles.

1.25m2 per litre per coat depending on the porosity of the substrate. Two coats give a dried film of approximately 0.9mm

Surface preparation
No roof-coating product can be expected to repair an existing roof that is not structurally sound and stable.  Before using a surface coating the roof structure should be inspected and, if necessary, put in order. All cracked, broken, slipped or missing slates, tiles, sheets or other forms of covering should be replaced or re-fixed and cracks in felt or asphalt filled.

Safety recommendation : do not coat roof lights, windows, glass or translucent sheets. These will constitute a hidden hazard if disguised.

Preparation of the surface is of great importance and will influence the degree of adhesion and life of the renovation. All roof surfaces to be coated should be sound, stable, clean, i.e. free from loose debris, dirt, dust and grease. All traces of algae and fungi growth should be removed using a stiff-bristled brush.  Where algae and fungi have been present, remove them completely and treat the surface with Everbuild fungicidal wash to kill any remaining spores, thereby discouraging the return of the growths.

Black Jack all weather roof coating contains a flammable solvent, and all normal precautions against fire must be taken during both storage and use.  Store in original container in cool dry conditions. Keep away from sources of ignition.

Is this product suitable to weatherproof a gazebo roof which is constructed from overlapping timber strips? Thank you.

Yes this would be suitable for use on Timber.

I have a leaking concrete roof which has patio slabs on the top, could I use this on the inside to stop the water coming through?

You could not use this internally I am afraid, you would need to lift the slabs ideally and waterproof underneath them.

Can this be used on a campervan roof

It would depend on what the roof of the cempervan is made from, if it is plastic then this would not really bond to it unfortunately.

Is it OK to use it on wood?

Yes, the product bonds to most materials including wood.
