Product Description

This FAKRO flashing has been designed to be used in conjunction with standard FAKRO roof windows on tiled roofs, where you’re looking to create a recessed roof window.

The FAKRO flashings have been manufactured with aluminium as standard, and are covered with a polyester varnish to add a durable seal, extending the lifespan of the flashing. Additionally, the flashing is available in a standard brown grey shade (RAL 7022), which provides a good colour match with most roof tiles.

Why do you need FAKRO flashings?

Flashings are often disregarded but are an essential part of a roof window and help to retain the integrity of the roof.

When installed, FAKRO windows do not create a watertight fit within the roof. They require a FAKRO flashing to fit tightly across the joins between the FAKRO roof window and the roof tiles, creating a watertight join, allowing the roof window to sit recessed within the roof line without any water passing through the roof. This is crucial because if water passes through the roof and into the ceiling or space below, it can cause damp issues and weaken the structural integrity of the roof itself.

As well as FAKRO flashings being an important structural part of the installation of a FAKRO roof window on tiled roofs, they also create a neat and clean appearance on the exterior of the roof.
