For a wet-fix ridge installation, start by locating the top row of specialised short slates, ensuring a comprehensive ridge covering. For socketed ridges, position their interlocking sections away from the harshest elements. Embed all ridges firmly in mortar for robust joints. For a neat bedding and pointing process, utilise a mortar mix of three parts sharp sand to one part Portland cement.

For an enhanced ridge-to-mortar bond, apply a proprietary bonding agent blend with cement underneath the ridge. As necessary, use additional mechanical fixing, following the current codes of practice and BS 5534 Part 1 2003 standards. Secure the edge of the end ridge tile with solid bedding. Anchor the hip tile, where needed, using a suitable hip iron at the rafter base. Align the lower hip tiles with the eaves and neatly finish with meticulous bedding and pointing.
