Description

Available in the colour grey with a 55mm upstand height and a weight of 3.6kg per m², this Harcon Corodrain Traditional Dry Fix Valley is made from durable GRP. The material boasts a lifespan equivalent to that of lead, exhibiting improved durability and cost-effectiveness as well as greater resistance to accidental damage and reduced susceptibility to theft or vandalism.

Offered in different height choices, the traditional dry-fix valley troughs are ideal for applications on pitched roofs with tiles and slates. With options to accommodate high-profile tiles, low-profile tiles, and plain and slate tiles, preformed GRP valleys make for faster installations than conventional techniques. Many roofing professionals attest to the fixing of issues associated with valley troughs when switching from lead to Corodrain GRP.

Features & Benefits: Harcon Corodrain Traditional Dry Fix Valley 55mm Upstand - 3m x 370mm

  • 3m length x 370mm width x 2mm thickness
  • 55mm upstand height
  • 3.6kg per m²
  • Made of GRP in a standard grey colour (other colours available on request)

While 17.5° to 22° roof pitches require a 350mm lap, 22.5° to 29° roof pitches require a 300mm lap, 30° to 39° roof pitches require a 200mm lap, and 40° to 49° roof pitches require a 150mm lap.

Installation

  • Valley boards need fitting with widths that support roofing battens. You can achieve this by using a minimum of 12mm ply lay boards between rafters or 6mm continuous ply boards over rafters. Place a single strip of roofing underlay along the valley centre. Valley boards should have counter battens of the same depth as roofing battens fitted onto them. Put the primary roofing underlay over the counter batten. When fitting roofing battens, position their ends securely on valley boards, near the counter batten, without damaging underlay. To allow proper drainage into the gutter for the GRP valley trough without flattening, appropriately cut the fascia board. Trim the GRP valley trough's end with a fine-toothed hacksaw to match the gutter's centre line (often a 'v' cut). When installing the GRP valley trough, centre it between valley boards and nail sides to counter battens, with nails spaced at a maximum of 500mm intervals.
