Question:
It says for roofs with a low pitch ranging from 10° to 20°, it is essential to incorporate a waterproofing underlay beneath the primary waterproofing finish. What would a waterproofing underlay please and is the 'primary weaterproofing finish the felt roll? Thanks
Answer:
In roofing terms, a waterproofing underlay is an additional protective layer that's installed beneath the main roofing material. This underlay acts as a secondary barrier to prevent water or moisture from seeping into the structure of the roof, especially in areas with low pitched roofs between 10° to 20° where water flow may be slower. The 'primary waterproofing finish' you referred to is indeed the IKO Super Shed Roofing Felt. This is the main layer that covers the roof and is exposed to the elements. It provides the first line of defense against rain, snow, and other weather conditions. The underlay is an added layer of protection underneath it. Please ensure to browse our range for suitable underlays for this purpose or you can contact our customer service team for guidance on choosing the most suitable waterproofing underlay for your project.
