The Knauf acoustic insulation range includes this acoustic roll. It offers exceptional sound absorption capabilities and also enhances the thermal and fire performance of walls, floors, and partitions. This acoustic roll is made of glass mineral wool, making an effective sound absorbent layer that can significantly improve the acoustic performance of partitions and floors, without adding significant mass to the structure.
When used in partitions, glass mineral wool complements the plasterboard linings as it absorbs airborne sound in the cavity, thus reducing reverberation. This material is particularly useful in preventing the hollow sound that is often present in partitions with unfilled cavities.
Knauf's sound insulation products are suitable for use in internal floors, separating floors, internal walls, and plasterboard partitions.
This acoustic roll is explicitly intended for friction fitting between joists and studs at 600mm centres to elevate the sound insulation of separating walls and floors, internal walls and floors, and timber and metal stud partitions. Moreso, it is suitable for friction fitting between resilient timber battens and timber studs in robust detail separating floors and walls.
