This Knauf acoustic roll provides a high level of sound absorption, whilst also improving the thermal and fire performance of your wall, floor or partition. Made from glass mineral wool, it acts as a sound absorbent layer in partitions and floors to significantly enhance acoustic performance, whilst only adding minimally to the overall mass of the structure.
In partitions, this glass mineral wool insulation can complement the plasterboard linings by absorbing airborne sound in the cavity and reducing reverberation. This Knauf acoustic roll is particularly effective at preventing the hollow sound that can occur in partitions with unfilled cavities.
This acoustic roll is specifically designed for friction fitting between joists and studs at 600mm centres to increase sound insulation of metal and timber stud partitions, internal walls and floors and separating walls and floors. It has also been designed for use between resilient timber battens and timber studs in robust detail separating floors and walls.
