The Manthorpe G242-150 Cavity Closer is a lightweight and easy-to-install product that comes in a box of 6 lengths, each measuring 2.5m long and 150mm wide. You can use it around timber doors and windows, either in individual lengths or preformed into frames and fixed directly onto door and window frames. The product can also be fit into a rebated detail where the window frame is positioned behind the outer leaf.
Cutting lengths with a sharp saw will not cause any loss of thermal efficiency, and with some specific products, PVC flanges provide a secure method of fixing. The G245 and G246 Plastic Fixing Clips enable the closer to be mortared securely to the brickwork, allowing shorter lengths of closer to be joined together, reducing wastage.
The Manthorpe G242-150 Cavity Closer is a versatile product that can be used as part of a detail to satisfy the requirements of a cavity barrier as stipulated in Part B of the building regulations when tested as a whole detail, including timber window or door frames and plasterboard.
