This clever Manthorpe G912 Joist Seal prevents air leakages around timber joists. It erases any need for joist hangers by easily and efficiently mounting the joist against the chosen wall.
By fitting over the end of the joist, this joist seal improves insulation by creating an airtight seal as it is built into the inner leaf of the external wall. When timber floor joists dry they can shrink, but it brings no issue to the seal that has been made. They still follow Part L of building regulations.
Manthorpe's G912 range aims to fix issues for built in timber joists that are related to air leakage. It does this by assuring seals between the box and the masonry are tight, even during shrinking. The inner flange is fit with numerous push out pockets for where restraining straps are needed.
