Description

An easily installed solution for existing walls with absent or inadequate ventilation, this Manthorpe G952 Refurbishment Weep Vent provides effective cavity wall ventilation. It is ideal for use in rendered wall constructions where implementing traditional built-in weep vents is difficult. Available in the colour Buff, this pack of 50 suits various brick, stone and render finishes.

This weep vent is installed in a 25mm diameter drilled hole. The tube ribs allow a seamless lead into the hole and ensure the vent maintains its position, while the external flange covers any drill damage inflicted upon the substrate. The vent also features a louvred chevron grill that defends against wind-driven rain and prevents insect ingress, as well as a drip rib for clean moisture runoff.

Installation

  • After marking out the vent positions, drill 25mm diameter holes through the wall's external leaf, directing them into the cavity at a slight upward angle. It is important that, before moving forward, you confirm the holes are clean and devoid of debris.
  • Align the tube with the hole. Ensure the chevrons of the front grill point upward and align the flat edge of the drip feature horizontally, parallel to the wall. Using your palm, you can then firmly push the vent into the hole until the back face of the flange sits flush against the substrate. The ribs along the length of the tube grip will secure the product in place, but more force may be necessary to push the vent into the hole. If this is the case, carefully tap the vent into position with a rubber mallet.

Please note:

  • This vent can be positioned at high or low levels to suit the required detail. It should be placed at both high and low levels to achieve a cross-flow ventilated cavity if required.
