With straightforward mechanical fixing, free from specialist tools, this Manthorpe Roll-Out Dry Hip System in Black offers a swift and tidy solution for securing clay and concrete hip tiles. It eliminates messy and timely mortar methods and is UV stable, keeping tiles from lifting in strong winds and preventing driven rain from infiltrating under the roof.
Compatible with most slate, concrete flat and profiled tiles, this system can be fitted to the hip of most roof pitches as long as they are within the tile manufacturer's recommendations. It also offers 5,000mm²/m ventilation into the roof space and is suitable for use alongside Manthorpe's Roll-Out Dry Ridge System.
To begin your installation, attach a length of Vent Roll to the hip, keeping it smoothed evenly across the existing roofing tile pattern. Next, position the Hip Tray above it and use screws or nails to secure it, creating a flat, level surface for laying tiles along the hip's length. After the eaves tile is installed at the base of the hip, fit the Manthorpe Union piece. Then, insert a hip tile into the union piece one course above and secure it in position using mechanical fixing. Repeat this to the top of the hip, then mitre a tile and attach it in the traditional method.
