Should you specifically require Crane Off-Load or small vehicle please notify us at the time of ordering, as an additional charge may be incurred.
15 degree Birkdales
The popular Birkdale fibre cement slate can be used for low pitch designs down to 15° (with hook fixing)* offering the designer and contractor more flexible aesthetic and installation options.
The hook fixing method is specifically for 15° - 20° pitches for moderate exposure roofs. This complements our Birkdale range using conventional nail and rivet fixing for steeper pitches or for severe exposure roofs.
Smooth Face / Riven Edge.
Featuring a smooth surface and dressed edges Birkdale fibre cement slates offer a traditional and pleasing look at an affordable price.
The combination of colour, edge finish and design flexibility that the Birkdale offers means it is ideal as both a roofing and cladding solution, used on numerous projects including the Tally Ho training centre in Birmingham and the Holcombe Moor Army base near Bury.

Notes
Fibre cement slates meet the strength requirements of BS EN 492, achieving an average bending moment greater than 50Nm/m (Class B).
The slates also have a minimum density of 1700kg/m³ and a nominal thickness of 4mm.
The batch code printed onto the underside of the slates is in the following format:
Example: NT UG21WB 24/11/11 12.10 CE.
NT = Type of Product (ie. Non asbestos technology).
UG21 = Product code.
W = Manufacturing plant ID.
B = Class (for bending moment).
24/11/11 = Date of manufacture.
12.10 = Time of manufacture.
CE = CE Mark.
The effectiveness of the tile or slate to operate at the minimum recommended pitch and lap may be influenced by special circumstances.
Guidance on pitch and lap should be obtained from the Technical Advisory Service for the following:
Consideration should be given to sealing any cut edges to prevent potential efflorescence staining.
