Description

Constructed from double-coated polyamide fabric with welded steel wire, this 60cm long Maxiflex Flexible Pipe features connection sleeves at both ends. The fully flexible spiral hose is suitable for the ventilation of soil and waste piping and mechanical ventilation systems, including the Nature Vent Slate Vent.

Maxiflex is highly versatile, featuring small spiral spacing to bend through tricky double bends and multiple slits in the connector to account for small differences in pipe sizes. Pipes should always be installed in a way that prevents a collection of condensation inside, and the supplied rubber sealing bands should be fitted over the ends of pipes inserted into the connectors.

  • Fully flexible spiral hose
  • Sockets made of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
  • Approximately 0.25mm thick tube wall
  • Temperature range from 20°C to +80°C
  • +3000 Pa maximum operating pressure and 30m/s maximum air speed
  • 0.62 x Ø minimum bending radius
  • 25mm wire spacing

Please note:

  • Includes an aluminium clamp with worm drive and rubber sealing band.
  • To avoid accumulating condensation, customers should protect piping with insulation above the level of installed ceiling insulation.
  • Also available with a reducer fitted at the lower end with a 70/100m spigot.

Question:

Hi I bought a new one of these to connect to my stench pipe/ vent in the loft but it keeps leaking believe it may be condensation can you recommend anything to resolve this please

Answer:

The issue is usually caused by condensation forming inside the flexible pipe. To stop this, the pipe needs to be insulated. Wrapping the full length of the pipe with loft insulation or duct insulation keeps the warm, moist air inside the pipe from cooling too quickly in the loft. This prevents water droplets forming inside the pipe and running out at the joints. Ensuring the pipe is insulated, sloped toward the roof vent, and securely connected will normally stop the leaks.
