As an innovative air-open reflective insulating breather membrane, this PhotonAir Multifoil Felt combines the thermal efficiency of multifoil insulation with Klober Permo air underlay. Designed for use on the cold side of roofs and walls, it is the ultimate solution for upgrading thermal insulation while eliminating the risk of condensation.
With its unique construction, this PhotonAir features a high-density glass wool core encased between a perforated reflective lower layer and Klober Permo air. Unlike traditional insulating breather membranes, it is air-open, allowing more water vapour to pass through. This makes it more breathable and effective in reducing the risk of condensation. Ideal for difficult-to-insulate buildings, this watertight PhotonAir can be installed without a vapour barrier or counter batten. As result, there is no change in roof height. This makes it a perfect choice if you want to enhance your insulation without compromising on space or performance.
Thanks to its high-density glass wool core, this PhotonAir is easier to cut and screw without snagging in comparison to polyester-based multifoils. It also offers better ?90/90 thermal performance and is fire-resistant, with an A1 non-combustible core. With a core rValue of 0.97m²K/W and 1.76m²K/W with one air space, it provides excellent insulation performance. It can simply be installed in the same way as a standard roofing tile underlay.
This PhotonAir has achieved LABC registered details and has been tested to BS EN16012:2012 + A1:2015, including ?90/90. Its water vapour resistance of 0.22MNs/g and emissivity of 0.05, make it a reliable and effective choice for your building. NHBC also accepts the use of membranes certified as both vapour and air-open without the requirement for supporting ridge or high-level ventilation.
