Cathedral clay pantile designs reflect the history behind one of the most eye-catching roof tile profiles ever created. Thanks to precision manufacturing using the latest clay technology, their appearance offers a unique and attractive solution for your roof.
Redland manufacturing combines the character of a natural clay product with the performance of a modern interlocking tile. This enables the distinctive look to be achieved at roof pitches as low as 22.5° at a 61mm headlap and 30° at a 51mm headlap. Cathedral pantiles retain all the charm and visual appeal of a traditional clay pantile with the added benefit of high performance. Additionally, you'll be pleased to find that the Smooth Brindle colour will mellow with age.
For a secure installation, you should maintain a maximum headlap of 71mm, a minimum gauge of 240m and a maximum gauge of 350mm for roof pitches below 30° and 360mm maximum for roofs at or above 30°. When it comes to battens, use a size of 38mm x 25mm for rafter centres up to 450mm. For wider rafters up to 600mm, opt for a larger size of 50mm x 25mm. You will need approximately 2.74 metres of battens per square metre at the maximum gauge.
