This Postel clay tile from Redland's range of tiles originates from the Courtrai tile. It was imported into the UK from Belgium between the world wars due to a lack of indigenous supply at the time.
Postal clay tiles were widely used in the South-East of England, covering thousands of housing estates that still stand today. However, many of these tiles now require replacement due to wear and tear. This Postal clay tile is an ideal option for a like-for-like replacement in such cases.
This Redland roof tile is suitable for use on roof pitches from 20°, with a 70mm headlap, up to a maximum of 90°, subject to the fixing specification. For a secure installation, you will require a maximum headlap of 125mm and a minimum gauge of 235mm up to a maximum of 245mm. When using a 245mm gauge, you get a coverage capacity of 20.4 tiles per square metre and a weight of 41kg per square metre, requiring 4.08 metres of battens per square metre. You can fix the tiles with 45mm x 3.35mm stainless steel ring-shanked nails.
