The new generation Rivius Slate Tiles from Sandtoft are an authentic and practical alternative to heavy slate. This interlocking clay tile system doesn't need double lapping, and due to its large clay format, is faster to install, making it more cost effective than traditional slate.
Manufactured using bespoke moulds and crafted from the imprints of genuine Welsh slate to replicate the intricate textures and defined detail, this Rivius Roof Tile offers convincing results. It creates opportunities for any self-build/social housing projects to use a slate look without cutting into their budgets, with excellent colourfastness and performance throughout its service life.
For a secure installation, place a 75mm wide layer of underlay beneath the undercloak. Take care to prevent any mortar from touching the batten ends. Position the verge tiles onto the mortar, ensuring a bedded fit. For added stability, securely fasten each verge tile with nails and attach the tails of the tiles to the verge clips.
