Description
Del Carmen is a quarry in Spain that produces ultra-grade Spanish slate that’s drawn from a single uniform slate vein. The consistency and the quality of Del Carmen slate is only proven by its certification for use in Snowdonia National Park. Del Carmen is fully accepted as an alternative to Welsh slate and it’s accepted by English Heritage and Heritage Scotland.
Tested to BS EN 12326, this Spanish slate reaches the highest certification in the UK, France and the US. Del Carmen ultra-grade slates achieve A1-T1-S1 and they have a 100-year guarantee from supplier SSQ. Since their lifespan is expected to last longer than 100 years, Del Carmen Spanish slate can be considered more sustainable as Del Carmen slate can last 4 times longer than other roofing tiles. Since Del Carmen slate is taken straight from a single vein of Del Carmen quarry, there’s no synthesizing and processing which emits CO2.
Del Carmen slates are between 4-5mm thick and have a unique, rust-free warranty from supplier SSQ Slate. This stunning natural roofing slate gives an unrivalled finish that can be installed in the harshest conditions thanks to its low water absorption and excellent strength.

Delivery Notes - Our slates are typically delivered on a six-wheeled lorry (11m long & 2.4m wide) with a tail-lift facility to offload on solid, level ground with a pump truck.
Non-compliance to delivery restrictions may result in additional delivery charges. Should you specifically require a crane or small vehicle offload, please notify us at the time of placing the order, as an additional charge may be incurred. Please allow 5% extra in the ordered quantity to cover acceptable breakage in transporting natural slate products.
