Question:
How is the roofer supposed to fix these tiles. Is the single hole at the bottom or top?
Answer:
The Swisspearl Westerland slate roof tiles are fixed using a two-step process. First, each slate is secured at the top edge (head) with two nails through pre-formed holes. These holes are located at the top of the slate and will be completely hidden once the slate is installed, which is standard practice similar to natural slate. The bottom part of the slate (tail) is not nailed. Instead, it's secured with a copper disc rivet that is bent over at a 90-degree angle. This method helps prevent wind uplift and slate rattling. Please note that Swisspearl specifically instructs to fix each slate with two nails and then secure the tail of the slate with a copper disc rivet. Question:
What weight is each tile?
Answer:
Each tile weighs approximately 1.5Kg
