Question:
Hi, I have a slightly pitched roof across 2 flats. I am finding that the airflow is an issue as we are regularly finding water dripping from the lights and some damp patches on the ceiling where it meets the wall. The roof has been checked and there is no water leaks. Which product would you recommend?
Answer:
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your roof. It sounds like you may be dealing with condensation due to insufficient ventilation. A product like the Ubbink OFT 2 Flat Roof Breather Vent could potentially help to improve the situation. The Ubbink OFT 2 is a breather vent designed for flat roofs, but it should also work with slightly pitched roofs. It has a pipe diameter of 110mm and is made from durable materials like aluminium and polypropylene. This vent is designed to improve air circulation and reduce humidity, which may help to mitigate your dampness issues. However, it's important to note that every situation is unique and I would recommend consulting with a roofing professional to ensure this solution is suitable for your specific needs. Question:
Hi We live in an area prone to high winds. We'd like to get some way of allowing incoming gusts into our flat roof carport to escape so as to relieve the airpressure that forces up the roof in high gales eg storm Eunice. The carport is about 7 metres long by about 2.2m wide. We are thinking if we installesd say 6 of these vents, it would allow gusts to escape out of the enclosed space and so assist in reducing the impact of the wind. Any thoughts? MAny thanks Chris Miller, Minehead Somerset
Answer:
Good Morning Chris.
Yes, the OFT2 would help to relieve any air pressure. Please check that it is suitable for the materials on your roof first before placing an order.
