This Ubiflex Black 3.5mm thick B3 Lead Alternative is a non-lead flashing material suitable for all applications where traditional lead is applied. It is manufactured with a modified polyethin compound and features an aluminium mesh reinforcement. As a result of its manufacturing, Ubiflex is environmentally friendly, non-toxic and recyclable, assisting in it being only of value to the installed as it has no re-sale value as scrap.
Ubiflex is 80% lighter than lead to assist with handling, structural, health and safety advantages. It is also 50% quicker to install than lead, is entirely malleable, can be worked in both directions and is self-sealing if punctured. As a lead alternative, Ubiflex is also not susceptible to thermal movement, which allows aprons up to 12m long to be formed without seams or expansion joints, meaning there is less wastage than with traditional materials. For reassurance, Ubiflex B3 is also BBA Certified and approved by the NHBC (National House Building Council) and Zurich insurance.
