This 80mm high Wallbarn Standard Black Plastic Cap is designed for use with TPE Vents. Sometimes referred to as aerators, Wallbarn TPE Vents are designed to aerate concrete slabs and help the structure breathe. Manufactured from TPE, a plastic/rubber compound, they are suitable for bituminous waterproofing systems.
Once waterproofed, it is essential moisture has a way to escape to avoid bulging of the material, which could lead to bubbling, blistering or even the bursting of the waterproof material. The vent is placed onto the bare concrete beneath the waterproofing membrane and insulation to draw moisture away. When the membrane is applied over the vent base, it creates a flue that helps draw the vapour out of the concrete.
Featuring a series of ribs along the underside of the round base plate (or flange), the caps help to encourage vapour movement along the base and into the tube or flue.
