How to find out slate visibility

You can likely determine the part of the slate you will usually see, aka the ‘margin’, by doing a simple sum. Find this using the headlap size which is a measurement of the slate covered by two layers of slate. This is key for watertight features.

Once you have the headlap and length of the slate, use the following sum:

Margin = length of slate – headlap ÷ 2
