Description

Thanks to its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, this Glidevale Protect A1 underlay ensures complete protection for your roof. It also serves as a temporary roof covering when needed. Its unique twin-ply composition comprises a polypropylene non-woven spun-bond layer and PP film. With outstanding nail tear and tensile strength, it provides durability and reliability. Meeting all the necessary wind uplift requirements in the UK and Ireland, this underlay is suitable for use in various exposure conditions from zones 1 to 5 at a 345mm batten gauge.

I have a small 40cmx40cm hole in my existing old 1930's underlay. Can this be used as a patch and if so can it be 'glued' or must it be nailed into battens e.g. will I need to strip back to find them?

Answer:

Technically I will have to say no If I were overlapping an underlay I would use membrane tape and not glue

Can this be applied from inside the loft to the roof battens? My roof tiles are just layed directly on the roof so wondering if i can add this now without having to remove all the roof tiles.

No, the rafters will not be covered

Could this be used as an underlay for my felt shingles.on my.log cabin roof?

Answer:

Normally felt shingles have a 3B type underlay, however, technically you could still use the A1

Could this be used under felt for pitched shed roof for Etta protection

Answer:

It could cause issues - you would be better off using a vapour control layer

Can A1 code A1-45 product be used for wrapping a SIPS constructed garden room?

Answer:

This is not breathable so would not reccomend for that purpose, better to use the Tyvek UV Facade.
