This Refurbishment Slate Vent by Manthorpe is the perfect solution for retrofitting without cutting slate battens. It is manufactured as standard for 600 x 300 slates but can be trimmed easily to fit 500 x 250 slates using the pre-marked cut lines.
Also seen as the alpha slate vent, it's usable for high and low-level roof ventilation requirements. The hood features a 4mm fly screen to prevent blockage from falling debris and prevent large insects from entering the roof space. Manufactured from UV-stabilised polypropylene, this contributes to its long lifespan, plus allows 10,000mm² airflow per vent for reliable roof ventilation.
As part of its manufacturing, the vent has been extensively and independently wind tunnel tested to regulation standards. This includes the BS 6367 Deluge test 225mm per hour rainfall, the driving rain test down to a roof pitch of 15 degrees with an up roof wind speed of 13m/s and a rainfall rate of 200 mm per hour to generate a fine penetrative spray.
