Question:
Hi, how is the angle measured for these ridge tiles? My roof pitch is 35 degrees (from horizontal), which angle of ridge tile suits that best?
Answer:
The angle for these Cedral Monopitch Ridge tiles is measured as the complementary angle to your roof pitch. It's interesting to note that even though your roof pitch is measured from the horizontal, the ridge angle isn't the same as the roof pitch. In your case, if your roof pitch is exactly 35° from horizontal, you're on the boundary between the 55° and 45° ridge options. However, the Cedral specification typically recommends the 55° ridge for pitches up to and including 35°. So, if your roof pitch is accurately measured at 35°, the Cedral 55 Degree Monopitch Ridge Blue/Black - 525mm would be the most suitable. If your actual measured pitch is slightly over 35° (for example 36°–37°), then the 45° ridge would be the appropriate choice. To double-check the pitch, you can verify it from the rafter measurements. This will help ensure you're selecting the correct ridge angle for your roof pitch. Hope this helps!
