A self-adhesive, polyester reinforced tape, manufactured specifically for the demanding requirements of metal roof seam and fastener weatherproofing. Just prime, peel and stick. Excellent bond adhesion, elongation, cold flex and oxidation resistance. Installs much faster than compound-type products and can be immediately coated with reflective or waterproofing coatings. Bonds tight even in colder weather.
Metal roofs pose special waterproofing problems. Normal expansion and contraction of panels, structural vibration and wind place great demands on the materials used for seam and fastener sealing. That's where Metal Guard seam tape excels. Premium quality, polymer enhanced asphalt insures a super strong, reliable bond and long term flexibility. Strong coatable polyester fabric re-inforcement premits crack bridging and tensile strength not possible with un re-inforced tapes or patching materials.

Coverage: one roll is enough to seal approximately 20.3m of seams or 800 fasteners with 2" squares.
Surfaces must be clean, sounds and primed with the guardian general purpose primer. Peel away paper backing and position over tight, primed seal or fastener. Mold tightly to metal contour with hand or roller pressure, eliminating air pockets and insuring good contact with surface. Prime the surface of metal guard seam tape after installation with the guardian general purpose primer. Allow primer to dry until clear (approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour). Then coat with SWEPCO aluminium roof coating or white acrylic coating.
