Find out moreThis VELUX solar blackout blind requires no mains electricity to operate, it relies solely on solar power. Charged up throughout the day, solar blackout blinds are a fantastic option if you lead a busy life on the go, have hard-to-reach roof windows, or you just want to make life simpler.
Operated via the VELUX INTEGRA touch screen control pad, you can add your blind to your existing control pad for synched up programming. This VELUX solar blackout blind is compatible with solar windows and manual windows as they’re extremely simple to retrofit. No wiring is required so you can retrofit onto a manual window then simply purchase the control pad separately.
You can gain so many benefits from solar powered blackout blinds, including choosing from pre-defined settings on the control pad to open or close your blinds for you at specific times or to operate the blinds as if somebody was home when you’re away from your home on holiday for example. Each of these pre-defined programs will make your life easier and more comfortable, especially when paired with VELUX solar powered roof windows too.
VELUX blackout blinds are perfect to get a better night’s sleep and to improve the quality of naps for young children throughout the day. The triple-layered OEKO-TEX dirt-resistant fabric blinds block out light completely on even the brightest days. Anodised aluminium side rails contribute to total blackout as they offer a lightproof seal and a smooth opening and closing each time, with the anodised aluminium providing durability and corrosion-resistance across time.

Question:
Please advise what dimensions I need to measure exactly on the Velux windows? Is it the overall size of the Velux including frame or just the size of the glass ?
Answer:
When measuring for your VELUX Solar Blackout Blind, you need to consider the size of your VELUX window, not just the glass. Each VELUX blind is designed to fit a specific VELUX window size, which is denoted by a code such as "CK02". This code can be found on a data plate on your VELUX window. To find the data plate, open your VELUX window and look for a metal plate that is usually located on the top right or left-hand side of the window frame. The code on this plate will help you choose the correct size blind for your window. For more information on how to find your VELUX window code and how to install your blind, please refer to our Installation Guide found in the downloads section of the product page.
