Wallbarn Minipads are a special smaller height pedestal suitable for suspended paving systems. They have been developed for customers who require a solution to areas where restricted and very low height thresholds exist but where minor alterations of height are still required to achieve a completely flat and seamless finish. They support paving slabs, promenade tiles on flat roofs, balconies, terraces and podium decks.
Wallbarn has the greatest range of height of pedestals in UK.
Minipads have been designed for use when working with very tight spaces. Adjustment can be made whilst the slab is in situ, so delays by constantly lifting the slab to change the height are avoided.
The lug fittings on the headpieces act as a straight paving guide, so all slabs will follow a uniform line. The headpieces and baseplates are both 150mm in diameter and will hold the edge of four separate slabs and give adequate support to the paving system. The stems are telescopic, so users can turn the pedestal until it “bites” to the correct height.
This is a suspended system - the weight of the slab holds everything in place. Changes to height can be made whilst the slab is in place. This saves a great deal of time and labour.
Even flat roofs are built to a small fall to allow adequate drainage. Minipads help to achieve a completely flat upper paving surface. Positioning lugs create a clear spacing between each slab which allows drainage and gives a clear, uniform paving line between slabs. The rainwater runs between and under the slabs, so there is no standing water left on the surface. They create a cavity between the sub-deck and the paving slabs which helps ventilate the structure and allows services such as pipes and cables to be hidden from view.
Minipads are available in heights from 10mm. They are manufactured from virgin fibre polypropylene. They will not become brittle in low temperatures.
A range of different lug size, slope correctors, levelling shims and accessories are available for use with Minipads from Wallbarn.

Question:
What riser would you use on the edges as so not to protrude?
Answer:
As the lugs on top are removable you would take these off the edge supports and slide them further under the tiles so they are flush and not exposed.
