Wallbarn's Mega Balance Self-Levelling Pedestals are an easy-to-install four-in-one solution that you can use in various applications, thanks to its ingenious headpiece design that supports not only decking joists and bearers but also paving slabs and tiles.

With a weight tolerance of over two tonnes per unit and a height range of 25mm up to 1025mm, this heavy-duty suspended system means the weight of the paving slabs or tiles ballasts themselves securely into position. Each pedestal is made from non-hazardous, fully recyclable injection moulded polypropylene without fillers, which will provide long-term durability and performance. They have even been laboratory tested at -40°C to +75°C to prove they will not shatter in sub-zero temperatures.

While the headpiece is self-levelling as standard, by using the 'grey nut', the head can be locked rigid within the same unit. If you need to adjust the height of your pedestals, you can do this using the 'yellow' and 'silver' key tools, even on a completed paving project, without having to lift and remove any of the slabs.

For Paving Applications

• The self-levelling headpiece incorporates 4 x 4mm wide positioning lugs (fins) integrated with the headpiece, helping to create a uniform paving line for your slabs and tiles. Not only does it aid the overall aesthetic of your paving, but with the headpiece's lugs separating your tiles, this allows for improved drainage. To install, simply lay the paving slab or tile onto one segment of the headpiece so four corners of your paving slabs or tiles rest on each headpiece. This will ensure four pedestals support each corner of a slab or tile, providing stable and secure support.

For Decking Applications

• The four positioning lugs on the self-levelling headpiece are set 55mm apart so a 50mm wide joist/bearer can be loose-laid between them easily. It is loose-laid rather than mechanically fixed in case of expansion or movement, which can cause differences between the structure beneath and the decking over time. The lugs are high enough to house the joists securely, giving you flexibility in your decking project. When laying your decking, the joists/bearers should be cross-fitted together to form a secure framework. The upper surface decking boards can then be mechanically fixed to the joist frame according to the specification and assembly instructions of the deck board supplier.

• Fire Classification: EUROCLASS E according to EN 13501-1-2009

Please note:

• You will only receive 1 black nut for every four units purchased. Additional black Nuts can be purchased.
• In decking applications, there is no need to cut furrings as the pedestals are adjusted in height to create a flat frame level.
• The headpiece is self-levelling as standard. Installers may or may not wish to click the grey nut into the headpiece to lock the head, depending on the characteristics of the decking project.
• There are cut lines on the underside of the baseplates should installers need to pave directly up to walls or parapets - do not cut bases beyond these cut lines.
• Special CLASS B1 (EN 13501-1-2009) rated pedestals can be manufactured upon request.
